Stan Clardy, southern born and bred, raised in a small town in south Georgia and currently living in Statesville, North Carolina since 1991. He has been exposed to different types and styles of music since childhood and enjoys playing multiple instruments and singing. He performs modern music with guitar and his "band in a box"! Since 1978, he has performed classic hits from a wide variety of artists and originals. His versatility with different styles of music contributes to his unique sound.
A one man musical historical play, "Soldiers in Gray, A Musical Journey", was produced, recorded and written by Stan. He and his wife, Cathy have been traveling the south since 1998 performing the play for historic groups, reenactments, living history organizations, schools and family reunions. Stan has five CD's of music he produced and recorded. "Soldiers in Gray", "Southern Stars", "God Save The South", "TimeLight Music" and "Wayfaring Stranger" He and his wife join together for school programs and storytelling of great southern classics with a cute handmade possum puppet, Mr. Bobby Lee O'Possum and his skunk body guard Raymond De Stinktive.
In May of 2003 Stan released his first book, "TimeLight, a journey into the past" it is a fictional historical account about the Confederate submarine H. L. Hunley, the War Between the States and the siege of Charleston during 1863 - 1864. He participated in honoring the last Hunley crew April 17, 2004.
In March of 2009 Stan participated in the United Way Guinness World Record for "Longest Continuous Music Concert with Multiple Artists" in Statesville, North Carolina.
In 1998 he won 3rd place in an international space songwriting contest from Ad Astra with the song "Big Blue Sky". This song is about a little boy's dreams of space and growing up to one day travel beyond the big blue sky. The CD "To Touch the Stars," is NOW AVAILABLE.
